Well what a day we have had!!

We arrived at the breaders this morning and met Sally again - how she had grown over the last 4 weeks, and she is still as beautiful. After an hour or so of chatting and more advice we left with . Sally sat on my knee in the back of the car and was as good as gold. She had a couple of short naps but mostly looked out of the window taking everything in.

When we arrived home we had 2 hours of investigating everything and playing. She has discovered the cables for the lights and the computers and the plants which we have had to move out of the room as she kept eating the leaves and rooting in the soil.

We got a large plastic bed with vetinary bedding as advised but it looked so big that we got a smaller bed to fit inside it for the first few weeks at home.

She has found the corner of the rug and likes to pull at it.

Investigating the puppy training pads - only had 1 accident so far and that was because Neil was not near enough to get her onto a pad. The rest of the time she has gone on the pads to much praise.

She had her first teatime which went down well. The tripe does not smell as bad as everyone said it would - I am so glad sometimes to have a very poor sense of smell.

First visitor - Katie from work came round to meet Sally and had a cuddle.

Sally was doing so well that we tried her collar on for 15 minutes which she tolerated reasonalbly well with distractions of Daddys slippers - don't forget his feet are in them Sally.

After all this excitement Sally had an hours sleep under the side table - she won't be able to do that in a few weeks.

Later we all visited the vets - the receptionists were very friendly and cooing over Sally and wanting to hold her.

We saw Helen - the vet who had looked after our previous dog, Katie - she was delighted to see us with a new puppy. Sally was fully examined and declared 'perfect'. She was weighed and is 7.65 kgs which is about 1 and a half stone to those of you who are not metric minded. Sally had her first inocculation and never flinched, she nearly fell asleep on the table when Helen was examining her, she was so relaxed and laid back, Helen was really impressed - Thanks Danielle - you've done a great job raising her.

The only time Sally flinched was when she had the microchip inserted - this was completely understandable as it was a BIG needle but she settled down again straight away.

After the excitement of the vets Sally fell asleep in the car on the way home and slept for 2 hours. I put her on her daybed when we got home so that she would know it when she woke up. Isn't she adorable, we love her to bits already.

When she woke up Neils' Mum and Dad were here so they had a play for a while before they left. Since then she has been playing with Neil, had another sleep, more food and generally settled in extremely well. She knows where her food and water are, where her toys are and knows her way around the lounge. Neil has had great fun playing with her and she has no qualms about him - she is not used to men.

She is still playing now at 10pm so we shall see what time she goes to sleep again ..........
